Our Mission
- To have fun while helping our less fortunate furry friends.
- To reduce the number of unwanted animals through public education about the many benefits of spaying or neutering pets.
- Involve the community in an effort to achieve this mission.
Our mission helps the many shelters and animal aid organizations in the Acadiana area that are in need of financial help. Since the first parade rolled around the perimeter of the Acadiana Mall in February of 1999, Krewe des Chiens has had many recipients. As we look to the future, our goal is to help reduce the rapid growth of the animal population by educating the public about the importance of having your pets spayed or neutered. By your participation and help, we can work towards a healthy animal population. We are proud that together with the community, we have been able to help the animal population.
Krewe des Chiens is open to all breeds, sizes and origins of dogs. The only requirement is a good temperament and a desire to help less fortunate animals. A completed Membership Form and $25 dues in advance are required for membership ($35 on Parade Day).
