"Cookie"
Owner: Kathy Hurst
Cookie, is the beloved canine daughter of Kathy Hurst and big sister to Molly, a 4 year old peekapoo. Her favorite activities are attending day camp at Camp Bow Wow, modeling for SPOILED and being the diva of the local pug meet up group. Cookie is proud to have been recognized by the American Kennel Club as a Canine Good Citizen.
King Gumbo XIII
"Tug"
Owners: Drs. Andy & Kristin Plauché
Tug, is the canine son of Drs. Andy and Kristin Plauché. He is a 7 year old yellow lab, a stray that was dropped off at their veterinary hospital about 5 years ago (He was an intact male and probably ran away chasing pretty women!). He stayed at the hospital for a few weeks while they searched for his owners. Dr. Andy noted he was very well trained and a great retriever. He worked with him every day at lunch and decided to adopt him after no owners were found. Things went well and he became a loved family member, even though he got his name for “tugging” things all over the house, yard, etc. Finally, duck season came around, but as soon as the shotguns came out he disappeared, hiding under their boat for days! He doesn’t hunt but they love him anyway and he spends his days “protecting” the yard, playing with his housemates, or hanging out at the Plauche’s Pet Resort at Lafayette Vet Care Center. His gentle nature allows him to help socialize other dogs and his size allows him to be an excellent blood donor to save critical patients. His special talents include retrieving, and opening almost any gate or door he comes across!

"Annabelle"
Owners: Angel & Barry Greer
Annabelle, is the canine daughter of Angel & Barry Greer. She is a 3 year old purebred Maltese and she knows it. She came to the Greer household after 30 years of hunting Labradors so she thinks she is quite special. She loves doing tricks for treats and wrestling with her friend, Chloe, a Maine Coon cat. She sleeps on her back with her legs up and loves road trips. Annabelle is excited to be crowned Duchess for the 2011 Krewe des Chien parade and will represent "Red Bird" from the characters in Cirque du Soleil.

"Guston"
Owners: Jean Broussard & Antonina Clementi
Guston, is the loving companion of Jean Broussard and her grand daughter Antonina Clementi. Gus is a 10½ year old Collie who loves long walks, playing with horses and beggin strips.

"Fergus"
Owners: Dr. Gary & Mary Porubsky
Fergus, is AKC red wheaten Scottish Terrier belonging to Dr. Gary and Mary Porubsky. Fergus has a great personality, loves people, especially his human sisters Kalelyn and Alexander. His favorite hobbies are taking very long, walks, car rides and going play with his buddies at Lafayette Veterinary Care Center. He also enjoys his classes at Petsmart, digging in Mommy’s flowerbeds and chasing his feline sisters, LuLu and Rosie. Fergus served as Duke for the 2010 parade, A-Lu-Howl.

"Sophie"
Owners: Kenny &Vicki Steinocher
Sophie Margarita Steinocher, is a long-haired Chihuahua and is the canine daughter of Kenny & Vicki Steinocher. At 7 ½ years old she, she looks and acts like a young pup. Sophie is an avid lizard hunter and squirrel chaser, with a love of cheese, eggs, brown rice, and organic snacks. As a puppy, Sophie was a quick learner, potty trained in 3 days, and she knows all 15 of her toys by name. Sophie loves to be held and allows her humans to sleep with her each night. Sophie is also the inspiration for her own column in 008 Magazine “Sophie Says”, which highlights information and ideas about pets. Her goal is to get as many of her unfortunate canine and feline friends as possible into good homes.
